The connector uses a plug socket provided on the plug insertion side with a peripheral indent providing on locking slot (3) with one or more interruption points. Pref. the locking slot is protected by the cover of the connector socket which has a retaining nose which fits into the locking slot interruption point adjacent the hinge for the cover. USE/ADVANTAGE - Allows easy assembly of connector, e.g. according to DIN ISO 1724, when latter is in relatively inaccessible position, to prevent contact deformation.
