The head of the golf club is made of metal or metal alloy. The insert (3) fits with keyed engagement in a recess (4) in same and is additionally secured by the adhesive. The recess has a rear cut section round at least part of its edge to engage with the insert. The recess is on the front of the head with an open edge along the top side. The insert is pref. made of a carbon-fire reinforced synthetic material mfd. by injection moulding. The temp. resistance of the insert is higher than the temp. required to release the adhesive. The insert protrudes slightly over the front side of the head. USE/ADVANTAGE - The insert provides greater accuracy when striking the ball and is replaceable when damaged.
