<p>The invention concerns cycloalkane derivatives of the formula I <CHEM> wherein Ar<1> is phenyl, naphthyl or a 10-membered bicyclic heterocyclic moiety which may optionally bear up to four substitu ents; A<1> is a direct link to X<1> or is (1-3C)alkylene; X<1> is oxy, thio, sulphinyl or sulphonyl; Ar<2> is phenylene, pyridylene, pyrimidinylene, thiophenediyl, furandiyl, thiazolediyl or oxazolediyl which may optionally bear one or two substituents; p is 1 to 4; q is 0 to 2; R<1> is hydrogen, (1-4C)alkyl, (2-4C)alkenyl or (3-4C)alkynyl; R<2> is hydrogen, hydroxy, (1-4C)alkyl, (1-4C)alkoxy, (2-4C)alkenyloxy or (3-4C)alkynyloxy; or the OR<1> and R<2> groups together form a (1-4C)alkylenedioxy, oxo, thioxo, imino, hydroxyimino or (1-4C)alkoxyimino group; r is 0 to 3; and R<3> is halogeno, trifluoromethyl or (1-4C)alkyl; or a pharmaceutically-acceptable salt thereof; processes for their manufacture; pharmaceutical compositions containing them and their use as 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors.</p> |
