PURPOSE:To stably maintain the extent of electrostatic charge and the flowability of a developer from the early stage of use over the entire service life of the developer without deteriorating the productivity of the developer by using a resin obtd. by blending monomers as starting materials and simultaneously carrying out addition polymn. and condensation polymn. as the binding resin of a toner. CONSTITUTION:A carrier is mixed with inorg. fine particles to stick the inorg. fine particles to the surface of the carrier and a toner is electrostatically stuck to the treated carrier by mixing. A conventional mixer is used for the mixing and the amt. of the toner added is usually 1-15 pts.wt. per 100 pts.wt. of the carrier. A resin obtd. by blending monomers as starting materials in a reactor and simultaneously carrying out addition polymn. and condensation polymn. in the same reactor is used as the principal component of the binding resin of the toner. The toner preferably contains a blend of vinyl resin obtd. by addition polymn. with polyester, polyester amide or polyamide obtd. by condensation polymn. |
