<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an exhaust gas purifying device which can save the regener ating time and consumption power while avoids a pressure loss and an increase in filter regenerating frequency. CONSTITUTION:In an exhaust gas purifying device for Diesel particulate, a filer 1 is heater by an outer peripheral heater 7 upon regeneration of a ceramic filter 1 so as to burn (oxidize) and remove particulate mainly composed of carbon components. Since the cross-section of the filter 1 in a direction orthogonal to the center axis of the filter is oblate, the effective thermal transmission distance from the outer peripheral surface to the center part of the filter 1 becomes shorter than that of a circle having one and the same cross-sectional area in a direction orthogonal to the center axis of the filter is shortened so that the center part of the filter 1 is immediately heated and regenerated, and accordingly, it is possible to save the regenerating time and the power consumption.</p> |
