PURPOSE:To enable to detect the tension of a weft on the finishing of the picking of the weft without employing a specific sensor. CONSTITUTION:The weft tension detector comprises an engaging member for engaging a picked weft, an electromagnetic actuator for driving the engaging member at least at the picking-finishing time and for controlling the position of the engaging member, a circuit for detecting an integrated correction current flowing between times T3 and T4 for canceling the displacement of the engaging member caused by the engagement of the weft, and a circuit for calculating the tension of the weft in the time of the engagement on the basis of the correction current detected with the detection circuit. |
