PURPOSE:To provide the video camera which can be directed in a stable state toward a prescribed direction even without using a tripod and can remotely control the direction even without using a pan/tilter. CONSTITUTION:A lens block 5 is horizontally and vertically moved independently of a main body 1 by acting on operating buttons arranged at the main body 1 of a camcorder or corresponding to a remote control signal. The direction of the camera can be easily changed without moving the main body 1, and the camera can be directed toward the prescribed direction in the stable state without using the tripod. Further, the lens block 5 is rotated independently of the main body 1 with the similar operation. The rotating effect of the image can be obtained without rotating the main body 1. When automatic tracing is instructed by the operating buttons or the like, the lens block 5 is moved based on the movement of an object detected from an image pickup signal, and the direction of the camera automatically traces the movement of the object. |
