<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a noise reduction circuit capable of excellently performing a noise reduction in a simple constitution, being appropriate to the adaptive control and having an advantage in cost. CONSTITUTION:Digitized image information segmented every 8X8 picture element is converted to 8X8 sequences in a two-dimensional DCT circuit 10. These sequence information are supplied to a nonlinear processing circuit 12 and a nonlinear processing cutting a minute level signal is performed for a high- order sequence. The sequence information does not have the distribution coincided with a spatial frequency and the high-order sequence area has high components as the spatial frequency. Therefore, the minute level signal of a high frequency area is to be removed as the whole of the nonlinear processing circuit 12. The signal after noise is removed is supplied to an amount of information reduction processing circuit 14 and the reduction of the amount of information is performed by a processing such as a quantization, etc., at this circuit.</p> |
