PURPOSE:To enable to establish the optimum operation of a water pump by a structure wherein a means for controlling the vane opening to meet the amount of flow rate necessary for a condenser, which is calculated based upon the change of cooling water temperature, is provided. CONSTITUTION:As for the movable vane-type circulating water pump for cooling the condenser of a thermal or nuclear power plant, the vane angles of movable vane-type circulating pumps 1A and 1B are controlled based upon the relationship between the load and the cooling water temperature, which is inputted in a vane angle control arithmetic unit 8 in the form of cooling water temperature signals sent from a cooling water temperature transmitter 7. As a result, the optimum operation of the movable vane-type circulating water pumps 1A and 1B is made possible. In addition, because the vane angle is automatically controlled, the safety operation can be realized even by an unskilled operator. |
