PURPOSE:To provide an optical cable airtight penetration module, which is easy manufacturable and is of high reliability, by accommodating the optical cable in a metal pipe, and allowing it to penetrate the module. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical module body 1 made of metal is provided in the central part with a flange 1a for installation on a header ring 9 of an airtight vessel penetration sleeve while an O-ring 10 is interposed. A metal pipe 7 through which an optical cable 4 is inserted, is allowed to penetrate the module body 1, and the parts around the metal pipe 7 on its left and rigt sides are filled with a sealing admixture 2 consisting of epoxy series resin so that a leak monitor space 3a is formed in the central part, and the outside of the metal pipe 7 is seled airtightly. An optical connector 6 is installed at each end of this metal pipe 7, wherein the core of the optical cable in this part is stripped, and the two ends of this core stripped part 5 within the metal, pipe 7 are sealed airtightly with sealing admixture 2'. |
