<p>PURPOSE:To shorten time required for operation by reducing the moving distance of the position indicating tool of a user at the time of selecting an item while combining the position indicating tool and a display picture. CONSTITUTION:This selector is provided with an indicated position close deciding means 9 to decide whether an instructed position in a display picture 5 is close to a rectangular area expressing the item at a certain degree or not, rectangular guide area display means 10 to display a rectangular guide area showing the close item at the indicated position in the display picture, and item selection deciding means 8 to judge that the item of the rectangular area corresponding to the rectangular guide area is selected when a position indication fixing tool 3 is depressed at the time of displaying this rectangular guide area and when the position indication fixing tool 3 is pressed while making the indicated position close to the rectangular area at a certain degree, the desired item can be selected.</p> |
