A facial screen for the prevention of insect ingestion during exercising. The facial screen is made of a lightweight mesh material (74) which covers at least the mouth but not necessarily the nose of a wearer of the facial screen. The mesh material is joined to first and second fabric material elements (17, 17a), which extends along a respective cheek of the wearer. The first and second fabric material elements are respectively joined to opposite ends of an elastic backing band (14) and at least one elastic cord or cords (20) is separated from the elastic backing band (14). The lightweight mesh material (24), the first and second fabric material elements (17, 17a) the elastic cord or cords (20), and the elastic backing band (14) form a continuous loop to encircle the wearer's head. |
