摘要 <p>The combustion residue (II) is moved relative to an electric field in an electrolytic cell contg. chelating agent (III) dissolved in the electrolyte. (II) contg. Cu, Ag and Ni from PCBs can be pelletised, suspended in the electrolysis bath contg. (III) in a perforated container and freed from metals by moving relative to an electric field. In a variation, alternating polarisation by stirring metal particles in a (III) soln. (e.g. 0.05 M dipropylenetriamine soln.) with a plastics covered coil connected to a 600 Hz a.c. source of gives of electrolysable metal extract, which is sepd. from (II) solids by filtering or centrifuging. USE/ADVANTAGE - (II) contains mainly metals and metal cpds., esp. if (I) is computer scrap or waste liquor from quasisolid clarified sludge from mtal turning operations. The process utilises the synergistic effect between electric fields and (III), which makes it possible to convert many metals, including Cu, Ag and Ni, into ionic chelates. The technique can also be used for removing metals and metal cpds. from e.g. river sediments.</p>
