A space frame structure comprises a rectangular grid of upper chords and a rectangular grid of lower chords directly below the upper chords. The grids are joined by diagonal braces. Each brace extends from a node where two chords on the first grid join to central points between the corresponding nodes on the second grid. Open lines free from braces are used to carry air ducts and other services. The structure is built up from modules typically incorporating one upper and one lower chord and two diagonal braces. |
