The sample is saturated with a test liquid and the liquid is then driven out of the body by air. The pressure applied is increased uniformly at a rate matched to the structure, and between 10 and 50 Pa/second, until the first gas bubble appears. The pressure is measured electronically and continuously during the test process and is recorded. The abrupt change in pressure as the first bubble is formed is detected and used to automatically compute the maximum effective pore dia. USE/ADVANTAGE - For problem-free measurement of effective pore sizes of test bodies according to ISO 4003 standard, including for battery degassing stoppers, used to prevent ignition, and similar sinter materials.
