The lifts (17) can be a bucket mechanism (18,19) or conveyor screw which bring the workpieces up and over the edge of the opening (4) in the base (3) of the sorting tray (2). The supply bunker can be refilled whilst the lift is operating continuously. The supply bunker has a base (14) dropping down to a lowest point (15) where the lift picks up the workpieces. The lift can be switched on and off when required by control means eg when a light barrier detects the sorting tray is sufficiently full. USE/ADVANTAGE - Easier operation.
