PURPOSE:To provide a general purpose property for a printer which prints on a strip of matter to be printed so as to be able to print even when the thickness of the matter to be printed varies, a function for cutting the matter to be printed so as to make chips, and make a chip table by arranging anal fixing the chips on an adhesive tape in accordance with a predetermined order. CONSTITUTION:A printer 1 comprises a conveying mechanism 3 for conveying a strip of matter to be printed and a printing mechanism 4 for printing on the matter to be printed. In the printing mechanism, a thermal transfer head 22 and a platen roll 23 are arranged interposing a convey passage (a) of the matter to be printed 2 and facing each other. An interval between the thermal transfer head and the platen roll can be adjusted in accordance with the thickness of the matter to be printed. Also, following structures are to be prepared. The width of the platen roll is made to be shorter than that of the matter to be printed, printing is performed by the electrifying method, overall cutting and half cutting of the matter to be printed is selectable, and a device for adhering and fixing the cut chips on an adhesive tape in cut order is provided. |
