PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording material imparting a developed color image excellent in stability especially against oils or fats such as oil, a plasticizer or the like, in the thermal recording material based on a leuco dye and a developer, by using a fluorane compd. as the leuco dye. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material utilizing the color forming reaction between the leuco dye and developer forming a color upon the contact with the leuco dye contained in its thermal recording layer, a fluorane compd. represented by formula I (wherein R<1> and R<2> is an alkyl group which may contain an ether bond or a cycloalkyl group, R<3> is a halogen atom and n is an integer of 1-4) is used. As an embodiment of the leuco dye, 3-(N,N- diethylamino)-6-methyl-7-anilino-3',4',5',6'-tetrachlorofluorane is designated. |
