A serving tray with a surface 1 is used for serving plates, glasses, cups, cutlery and the like to guests. The tray has a cutting 2 which is formed in the edge 3a, 3b of the surface and in which a thumb can be placed. The user places his thumb in the cutting and holds the tray in such a way that it rests on his arm. The tray is less tiring to use and has greater stability than the known trays. <IMAGE>
