PURPOSE:To shorten display time by enlargement-processing a reduced document picture, displaying actual size and switching display as soon as the document picture is transferred to a data server. CONSTITUTION:A retrieval server consists of a bus 101, an input/output control part 110, a highly precise display part 111, a keyboard/mouse 112, a display buffer memory part 120, a communication adapter 130, a picture processing part 140, a central control unit 150, a retrieval part 160, a back memory 170, a picture processing memory 171, a development picture memory 172, a buffering memory 173, a document picture storage part 180 and a picture input/output part 190. At the time of retrieving the document picture by the data server accumulating the document picture and the retrieval server executing retrieval display, the reduced document picture is transferred from the data server and is displayed in the retrieval server. When the retrieval server intends to view the picture in actual size, the reduced picture is enlarged and actual size is displayed. Then, display is switched as soon as the document picture is transferred to the data server. |
