<p>The sheets are prepd. by adding a PVC latex to an acidic suspension of paper fibres, then draining the fibres so as to form a sheet, which is then compressed under heating at 140-180 degrees C. Pref. TiO2 pigment and 5-10 wt. % of an acrylonitrile latex is also included in the suspension. The amount of PVC latex added to the suspension is sufficient to provide 30-70 wt.% of PVC in the final product. Laminated sheets can be produced by pressing two or more sheets together, and they may be used as identity cars when e.G., a photograph is inserted between the sheets.</p> |
