PURPOSE:To provide the decimal-binary converter which quickly converts n-digit decimal data (BCD) to binary data (an integer or a floating-point number). CONSTITUTION:A multiplier 1 normally multiplies data in a multiplier register 3 and that in a multiplicand register 2. At the time conversion from decimal to binary, a 10<n> data selector is so controlled that 10<n> outputted from a 10<n> data generator 4 in parallel correspondingly to respective digits of BCD is inputted instead of multiplicand data. The multiplier 1 multiplies BCD stored in the multiplier register 3 and 10<n> data outputted from the 10<n> data generator 4 at a time and stores the sum of products in a product register 5. |
