PURPOSE:To provide a rotary polygon mirror which can be manufactured without requiring a process to make a reflecting surface to a mirror surface. CONSTITUTION:The rotary polygon mirror E is provided with a main body 1 molded integrally of a transparent resin material, and the main body 1 consists of a boss member 3 provided with a shaft hole 2, an outer ring member 4 arranged concentrically with the member 3, and six ribs 5a-5f which connect the member 3 and the member 4, and the inner circumference plane 4b of the outer ring member 4 consists of six prisms 6a-6f arranged among the ribs 5a-5f. Each of the prisms 6a-6f is comprised of two oblique planes intersecting orthogonally to each other, and the incident light Li of a laser beam, etc., made incident on the outer ring member 4 is totally reflected on each oblique plane. |
