<p>PURPOSE:To protect a steel tower against damage due to uneven tension of wire by disposing a safety metal, which breaks down at a specific load, at a part of a coupling metal for fixing an auxiliary insulator between a suspension clamp and the tip of auxiliary arm extending in the direction of the line from the arm of suspension steel tower. CONSTITUTION:Arm 5 of steel tower for suspending a transmission line is provided, on the opposite sides thereof, with auxiliary arms 7 extending in the direction of an overhead transmission line 2. The overhead transmission line 2 is suspended from the arm 5 of the steel tower through a suspension insulator 3 and a suspension clamp 6. Auxiliary insulators 8 are coupled between the tips of the auxiliary arms 7 on the opposite sides and the suspension clamp 6 through coupling metals 9. The coupling metal 9 is constituted of a right angle socket clevis 10, a safety metal 11, a parallel clevis 12, and a coupling yoke 13. The safety metal 11 has strength being set such that the safety metal 11 is broken down upon application of a predetermined load lower than the allowable load in the line direction of the suspension steel tower. This structure protects the steel tower against breakdown or protects the transmission line against short circuit even upon application of uneven tension onto the transmission line due to accretion of snow.</p> |
