The torque (27) is introduced about the swivel axis (26) of the lever (23) so that the contact pressure end (31) of the lever is raised and lowered in a position offset behind the swivel axis against the advancing direction (25). This end (31) has a large-surface movable bearing (28) set above a cushion (34). The cushion can be detachably fixed at the pressure end of the lever by an assembly plate (35). It has a surface producing good adhesive friction and is pref. made of a rubber-like material which has little compressibility. USE/ADVANTAGE - Wooden beams are moved without danger of canting and without damage being caused by positive engagement.
