The converter has a substrate for propagating an acoustic surface wave. Electrodes are formed on the substrate. In the wave propagation direction, repeaters are provided. These are formed such that the sum of the width of an excitation region and that of a reflection region equals the wavelength of the acoustic wave. The reflection region includes an electrode finger. This has a minimum width of one sixteenth of the wavelength of the acoustic wave. USE/ADVANTAGE - Esp. for use as i.f. filter for digital mobile radios etc. Provides loss-free and wide-band filter suitable for miniaturisation and easy to adjust.
