The control knob includes a hole (8) which extends into the knob head (5) so that an inserted gear stick end section (9) is enclosed by both the knob neck (4) and the connected section of the knob head. The fixing device (16) is above the knob neck in the area of the knob head. The fixing device operates with a clamping part (18) of the gear stick end section. Several clamping screws (19) are distributed around the circumference of the hole. The clamping screws are screwed in screw guides in the knob head against the clamping part. ADVANTAGE - Guarantees a durable fixed seat on gear stocks of different thicknesses under high load without loss with regard to grip feel or handleability.
