Device for aeration of water, has a tube provided with a support and arranged with its upper end extending out of the water and its lower end arranged to give restricted inflow to a driven radial pump impeller when suction side is turned toward the inner end of the tube. A radial impeller driven by a submersible motor draws in water via an annular gap, between the impeller and the bottom flanged end of a vital tube, which limits the inflow of water and rejects water mixed with air from tube through the same annular gap. The unit is conveniently mounted on a circular float, to automatically keep the inlet gap at the correct height for optimum water intake (claimed). The units typically absorb less than 50 Watt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Cost effective aeration device e.g. for fish prods., etc. requiring low energy input and consequently causing reduced heating of the water.
