1,219,756. Photocopying machines. NIG MASON Ltd. March 22, 1968 [July 19, 1967], No.33259/67. Heading G2A. An original O is fed into a copying machine between conveyor bands 2 and 3, and the copying material CM is fed from a roll R, between rollers 17, 18, and past a cutting device 19, where a length of copy material is cut off which is determined by the length of the original. As the original is carried forward, its leading edge trips the finger 43 of a microswitch 42, so releasing a brake holding the copy material, and engaging a clutch which causes the material to be fed forward. The leading edges of original and copy material meet at the junction point 32, and the two sheets are then carried on, in contact, between bands 23 and 26. As the trailing edge of the original leaves the microswitch finger 43, the clutch is disengaged and the brake operated again, so that movement of the copy material is halted. An electrical pulse is now transmitted to the cutting mechanism, a knife blade 46 descending to sever the copy material. This is conveyed, together with the original, round roller 28 and up again between bands 26 and 34, and then between bands 3 and 38 and guides 44 leading to the copying machine. The roller 28 is vertically displaceable in a guide slot 29.
|
