PURPOSE:To constitute the processor so that a data processor can access more registers than the number of registers which can be addressed by an instruction. CONSTITUTION:By varying an existing floating decimal point window pointer, a certain floating decimal point register number in an instruction is converted to a different physical floating decimal point register number by a first converting circuit 112, and by varying an existing general purpose window pointer, a certain floating decimal point register number or a general purpose register number in the instruction is converted to a different physical general purpose register number by a second converting circuit 114. In such a way, more physical registers than the number of registers which can be addressed by the instruction can be accessed without varying architecture of a data processor, therefore, deterioration of the performance caused by a fact that execution of the instruction is awaited due to read-out of data or collision of a register can be prevented, and a program can be processed at a high speed. |
