PURPOSE:To improve the rate of automatic discrimination of homophone, by providing a function to study the homophones in the unit of paragraphs, when homonyms exist. CONSTITUTION:A paragraph in which homophones exist and the order of display is a subordinate position in conventional conversions, is registered in a homophone paragraph buffer 31 so as to cause Japanese phonetic syllabary to correspond to the declaration. When the operator inputs the paragraph from a keyboard 11, first, the homophone paragraph buffer 31 is searched. Since none is stored in the homophone paragraph buffer 31 at the first stage, conventional dictionary retrieval is done. An updating key is depressed until the intended Kanji is obtained, and when the intended Kanji is obtained, it is registered in the homophone paragraph buffer 31. When a homophone is generated in a paragraph in this way and a correct reply is not obtained with the first candidate, the homophone is registered in the homophone paragraph buffer 31 one after another. If the buffer 31 is fully occupied, the homophones already registered are erased in order and the latest homophone is registered. |
