<p>Pressing matrix of circular shape can be placed inside a cylindrical body to form a flange which is directed radially outwards when axial pressure is exerted on the cylinder. The matrix head is surrounded by a segmented band which forms the outer wall of the pressing dish and forms a stopping shoulder for the flange during its formation. Each of the segments can pivot and move in radially outwards direction so that the slight projection formed on the cylinder in the area of the welding joint after callipering is not subjected to extreme pressure during formation of the flange which would cause buckling of the cylinder.</p> |
