An injection mould for the prodn. of (partic.) thin flat plastic mouldings has at least two tools moving together in their closure direction and at least one other tool which can move on guides in the mould, whereby the closed mould forms the cavity concerned. The last-mentioned tool, which can also be removed from the mould, can be moved at right angles to the closure direction between the two main mould tools when they are at least slightly open and can be taken to a position set by the guides where it can be attached to one of the main tools. The side view shows the two main mould tools (24,25) forming the cavity, between the fixed (10) and moving (11) plates. These tools (24,25) thus move together in the direction (s-s). A further plate (22) can move on guides and it forms the mould cavity with the other tools (24,25). In particular it (22) can be taken out from one side i.e. at right angles to the direction (s-s), when the tools (24,25) have been at least partly opened. The end position of this member (220 is limited by its guides (23); the plate itself (22) is U-shaped and therefore can fit into a matching shape on the guides (23). It has a small lug so that it can be removed by hand. It (22) can hold a plate or embossed film on its face for moulding CDs. ADVANTAGE - The mould can produce large vols. of mouldings per unit time but without any reduction in their quality. It is suitable for making e.g. thin flat compact discs.
