A process for making various plastics identifiable, in which each plastic is provided with a plurality of fluorescent dyes which differ through their emission frequency and/or through the fluorescence duration, so that each plastic can unambiguously be assigned a fluorescence pattern which differs through the fluorescence duration and/or the frequencies which have appeared.
