PURPOSE:To improve the recording efficiency of the high-frequency signal of a magnetic head by setting easy-magnetization axes of magnetic substances of high permeability, provided on a thin film of high permeability and its flank, in parallel to a magnetic recording medium surface. CONSTITUTION:Magnetic layer 11' of magnetic recording medium 11 running as shown by the arrow is provided with magnetic thin film 12 of high permeability in the run direction of medium 11 with its tip surface in contact and magnetic substance 13 of high permeability is hermetically bonded to the medium-11 run-directional flank of thin film 12. A recording signal current from a recording signal source is flowed through winding 14 provided around thin film 12 and magnetic substance 13. Magnetic flux generated by this current converges on thin 12 with efficiency and at its tip part, magnetic substance 11' of medium 11 is vertically magnetized to record signals. Further, this head has easy-magnetization axes of thin film 12 and magnetic substance 13 set in parallel to medium 11 so as to improve the permeability of thin film 12 and magnetic substance, so that the recording efficiency of the high-frequency band can be improved. |
