PURPOSE:To make possible the strong edging work just behind the delivery side, by employing the mold whose internal is shaped as a drum, and by casting the convex crown slab. CONSTITUTION:Since the internal of the mold 1 of the continuously casting machine A is shaped a drum, the cast slab is thick walled at its middle part. The pinch rolls 2 of gradually decreasing diameter are installed on the delivery side of the mold 1 for carrying the slab. Following to the pinch rolls 2, the vertical caliber roll 3 and the horizontal roll 4 are installed in order to carry out the edging work and the horizontal rolling work. For this purpose, the defective part is pressure welded to uniformize the quanlity, and the section of the slab is provided with the thick walled lateral middle part. |
