<p>PURPOSE:To prevent surging from producing and secure smooth supercharging pressure and acceleration by opening a bypass pipe connecting upper and lower air intake pipes to each other for a compressor of a supercharger only when a vehicle is in travel condition and an engine brake is in inoperative condition. CONSTITUTION:An intake air is fed to an internal combustion engine 9 through an intercooler 7 after compressed by a compressor 5 for a supercharger 4. On the other hand, an exhaust gas rotates a turbine 12 for the supercharger 4, and also rotates the compressor 5 installed co-axially with the turbine 12. In this case, an air intake pipe 3 on the upstream side of the compressor 5 and a vent pipe 6 on the downstream side of it are connected through a bypass pipe 15, and a valve mechanism 16 is provided in the bypass pipe 15. Also, the valve mechanism 16 is opened and closed drivingly by, for example, a negative pressure source through a changeover valve 19. In addition, the changeover valve 19 is controlled drivingly by a control device 21 according to detection signals from a vehicle speed sensor 22 and a brake sensor 23. Then the valve mechanism 16 is opened only when a vehicle is in travel condition and an engine brake is in inoperative condition.</p> |
