A silo (1) contains coating to apply to a metal surface. This coating is distributed in a tube (2) having an Archimedes screw supplied with water, and conveyed to a nozzle (7) by a pump (5). A scraper (13) rotates about a vertical axis inside the silo, which has a lower compartment which discharges through openings (16,17) into the tube. A motor (23) simultaneously rotates the scraper, and a circular distributor (10) having radial palettes and also peripheral teeth (21) engaging a motor-driven chain (8). USE - Interior coating of metallurgical containers with layers of insulation.
