PURPOSE: To provide an improved anti-aliasing system used for computer graphic display. CONSTITUTION: A neural network is provided and used to learn the relations between the brightness and/or the color of a selected picture element and those of peripheral picture elements. If the neural network decides that anti-aliasing improves the entire articulation of a graphic image, the neural network calculates a scale factor used for correction of the brightness and/or the color of the selected picture element for the purpose of performing anti-aliasing. In this embodiment, a single picture element out of nine picture elements of a (3x3) matrix is corrected as expected, and zigzag edges of the graphic image are blurred with respect to graphics displayed on a computer system. |
