The conveyor is in trough-sections laid in the gallery and on which an extracting machine is guided. A cowl supports the roof and a skid slides over the floor, while rams are mounted between them. Each ram assembly (11) has two beams(16) at opposite sides of its skid(12), and which are coupled to the cowl(13) at the end towards the working face by a drive generating relative movement between them. At the end towards the conveyor the beams are joined together by a cross-member(17) so as to form a supporting frame enclosing the skid. ADVANTAGE - Simple, reliable, and easy to operate and repair.
