[Also in Division El] A hanger installation for approaching the external parts of aircraft during, for example, maintenance, comprises a body unit, Fig. 2, and a tail unit, Fig. 3. The body unit has a frame 1 connected to screws, or hydraulic cylinders, 2, the frame 1 being attached to a supporting frame 7 by means of parts 2, plates 4 and columns 6, and rotational means 3c; the frame 7 may thus be moved vertically, and rotationally by means of parts 2 and 3c. Frame 1a, attached to frame 1 by the rotational means, is connected by wheels 18 to rails 19 which are connected to rails 19a by wheels 18a; the rails 19, 19a are at right angles, 19a being attached to the hanger roof. Movement parallel, or perpendicular, of the frame 7, to the longitudinal axis of the fuselage is caused by movement of rails 19 relative to 19a by means of wheels 18 or 18a respectively. Ladder 10 connected to frame 7 and columns 6 by supports 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, meets platforms 8, 8, and further platforms 8a, which may be moved toward or away from the fuselage on wheels 22, are accommodated below platform 8. The distance between the fuselage and the installation may be controlled by photoelectric cells or limiting-switches. The tail unit in similarly constructed, being movable in a like manner, and being provided with movable platforms 35. Actuating means for the various movements are provided, and the installation may be used for various sizes of aircraft. |
