PURPOSE:To enable the production of respective devices having color liquid crystal display parts which can be made into free forms, such as curved form, in spite of the large-sized screen and are thin and lightweight. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display element is constituted by disposing polarizing plates 4, 5 on at least either of the front side and rear side of a liquid crystal panel, which is formed by holding a liquid crystal material 1 contg. a ferroelectric high-polymer liquid crystal with film-like resin substrates 2, 3 having flexibility, and further disposing the color filters 6 having flexibility on either of the display side or rear side. More preferably, the display side or rear side substrate, the polarizing plate and the color filters are integrally constituted and a film-like electroluminescence element 7 having flexibility is disposed as a backlight on the rear surface of the color liquid crystal display element or a film-like reflection plate 7 having flexibility is disposed on the rear surface of the color liquid crystal display element. |
