The head support is geometrically variable and may occupy a first position in which the lateral supports (7a,7b) are retracted and a second position in which they are active. The lateral supports (7a,7b) of U-form are fixed relative to the rear support (7c) and pivot about 90 degrees around a transverse axle (2) relative to the seat frame (5). The central part has a forward facing bulge (7c) when its ends point downwards. The rest is connected to the seat frame (5) by two vertical rods (3a,3b) which pivot on the frame. There are two grooves in the lateral supports in which the rods (3a,3b) may be engaged when it is in the vertical position. USE/ADVANTAGE - Side supports avoid passenger head tipping when turning corners.
