The wood screw consists of a head (1) with a driving slot (5) and a shaft (2) of a cylindrical form that terminates in a point (3). The periphery of this shaft is provided with a helical thread (4) relatively deep where the flanks of the thread facing the head (1) are practically perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the screw, whilst the flanks on the side facing the point are inclined at an angle of between 30 and 40 degrees to this axis. Use/Advantage - As a wood screw for natural wood or reconstituted synthetic material where the shape of the flanks on the helical thread improves its holding properties even in soft wood.
