The mounting secures the plate of a table, workbench etc., to a frame or wall, having one or more brackets and supports. The bracket (4) is clamped against the support (5) in its sideways direction. There can be a connecting component (17) on the bracket sliding from the free to the engaged position and also pivoting on a vertical axis at right angles to that of the bracket. The component can be accommodated between parallel supporting flanges of the bracket, the latter being of U-section. One flange can have an outwards-extending hook (39), engaging in a groove (9) in the support. ADVANTAGE - Secures bracket absolutely firmly on support irrespective of manufacturing tolerances.
