PURPOSE:To promptly and gently start a scanning system. CONSTITUTION:Driving force generated by a main motor 110 is transmitted to the scanning system scanning an original, via an electromagnetic clutch for forward rotation 104 or an electromagnetic clutch for backward rotation 105. A control circuit 200 impresses a rated voltage generated by a power source circuit 300 to the electromagnetic clutch for the forward rotation 104, in a pulse, at the time of starting scanning. Thus, the electromagnetic clutch for the forward rotation 104 obtains a half connected state from an interrupted state, and in the half connected state, the connecting force of the clutch 104 is gradually increased, while being repeatedly increased and decreased. |
