PURPOSE:To increase the capacity of a feeder as well as to realize a size reduction and a speed increase. CONSTITUTION:In a surface mounting machine, an X1-shaft 4A and an X2-shaft 4B are disposed on either side of a transfer line L of a substrate P, respectively. Heads 5A and 5B are disposed in a movable fashion along the X1-shaft 4A and X2-shaft 4B. A Y1-shaft 13A and a Y2-shaft l3B are arranged at right angles to the X1-shaft 4A and X2-shaft 4B. Work stations S1 and S2 that receive a substrate from the transfer line L and move it are disposed so as to be symmetrical about the center position of the transfer line in a movable fashion along the Y1-shaft 13A and the Y2-shaft 13B. This permits chip components to be simultaneously mounted on two sheets of substrate, thereby increasing the speed of mounting. This also allows feeders 22A-1 to 22B-2 to be rationally arranged. |
