PURPOSE:To provide the device and method for reading data in storage device so as to read desired data from the storage device without fail by using an error retry function even when read error is generated by any periodical disturbance. CONSTITUTION:A CPU 11 in a main body 1 accesses a floppy disk device 4, reads designated data and transfers them to a memory 12. At that time, the CPU 11 detects whether transfer error (same as read error) is generated or not and when the transfer error is generated, the prescribed data are read by accessing again the floppy disk device 4 after waiting just for the time of a random number value, which is generated at that time, multiplied by two seconds. Thus, since the timing of error retry to the floppy disk device 4 is made different of each time, the retry executing cycle of the CPU 11 is prevented from being synchronized to the transfer error generated by the periodical distance. |
