<p>A gas burner comprises a housing (10) of circular cross-section with inner and outer peripheral walls (12, 14) defining therebetween an annular passage for flow of water therethrough. Within the housing (10) is a rotary assembly comprising a motor (22), a drive shaft (20), and a plurality of thin metal discs (26) separated axially from one another on a disc (24) which is mounted on the shaft (20). When a gas air mixture is introduced centrally of the rotary assembly, the gas passes radially between the disc (26) to a combustion chamber between the latter and the housing wall (12). The passage for water is in heat exchange relation with the combustion chamber and the fuel is capable of burning with a low flame velocity relative to the rotary assembly but a high velocity of products of combustion relative to the water passage. <IMAGE></p> |
