The high speed shutter comprises a separate fitting to position in front of a conventional camera, loaded with high speed film. The additional shutter has a number of raster plates (7) mounted between parallel control levers (10) with the number and spacing of the slots chosen so that a narrow field of view is projected onto the film, comprising a narrow strip of the image.
